Separate observations from assumptions

Make a simple list with three columns: confirmed present, still to find and unclear. A part that has not appeared in the first tray is not necessarily missing. Group similar pieces, examine small bags carefully and distinguish a color mismatch from a completely absent element.

Keep unusual printed parts, figures and accessories together while you work. Photograph anything whose condition differs materially from the listing. If a question remains, contact the seller through the marketplace with a specific description and image rather than a broad accusation. Clear records make it easier for both sides to understand what needs resolving.

Clean ordinary bricks gently

LEGO recommends cleaning pieces by hand with a soft cloth or sponge and water no hotter than 40°C / 104°F. Consult its full care guidance before working on special elements. Keep electronic components and items requiring different care out of an ordinary soaking batch. Allow cleaned pieces to dry fully before packing them into a closed container. Keep the cleaning area separate from the inventory trays so the count remains understandable.

Note any temporary substitutions so they do not disappear into the finished model’s history. If your aim is a faithful restoration, retain the exact part and color information for later ordering.
