LEGO’s Luminous Ghost gives a small Halloween display a second expression

A light brick changes the face of set 40772, while a bat and pumpkin complete the scene. Its current US online gift offer is scheduled to end October 27.

One face, two ways to see it

A Halloween model does not need a whole haunted house to have a little theatrical flair. LEGO Celebration Series: Luminous Ghost 40772 puts the change in its face: pressing a handle at the back activates a light brick, making the eyes and mouth glow red.

The 167-piece set is aimed at ages eight and up. A pumpkin and a bat with adjustable wings complete the small scene, with a transparent support giving the bat its elevated position. This is a desk preview based on LEGO’s published specifications and imagery, rather than a hands-on test.

The light gives the display a moment

Our reading of the official image is that the simple color scheme does much of the work. The white ghost, black bat and orange pumpkin remain immediately distinct, while the red face supplies the surprise. Gray chains add another familiar Halloween cue without demanding a larger setting.

That makes the model interesting as a small piece of display design. It has a quiet state and an action to demonstrate. Someone showing it to a visitor can do more than point out the finished shape; there is a short reveal built into the character. We have not tested brightness, battery life or how the effect looks under different room lighting. Those are separate questions from the mechanism LEGO describes.

The October 27 US offer, precisely

As checked October 27, 2026, LEGO’s US promotion terms list 40772 as an online gift with qualifying LEGO merchandise purchases of at least US$120, scheduled for October 20–27 while supplies last. The terms exclude Pick a Brick Standard orders and limit the gift to one per household; previous purchases do not qualify.

The stated end date is not a guarantee that stock remains. Check that the gift appears in the qualifying basket before placing an order. These are US terms, not a worldwide offer, and the dated promotion should not be assumed to continue after October 27.

Choose the scene before chasing the gift

For collectors, our suggestion is to judge this one by the display you actually want to make. A compact Halloween corner can give a little character room to be noticed. If an already-planned order qualifies, the promotion may be a useful extra. Adding unwanted sets just to reach a threshold changes that calculation.

The lasting appeal here is the character’s small performance: a familiar ghost shape becomes a light-up surprise. That remains a design idea worth enjoying after the promotional calendar moves on.
