The first set begins with a summoning

LEGO and Toei Animation have announced their first Dragon Ball collaboration, led by Icons set 11390, Shenron & Goku. The announcement dated September 29, 2026 introduces a 1,764-piece display based on the original animated series, with Kid Goku riding his Kintoun beneath the dragon’s looping form.

The choice creates a clear relationship between a small character and a much larger creature. This preview examines the announced model and official imagery. We have not built it, so questions about stability, assembly difficulty and how the joints feel remain outside what we can judge.

A sculpture with adjustable points of attention

The product description says the dragon’s head and claws can be posed, while the Kid Goku minifigure can be detached and repositioned. Seven Dragon Balls form part of the scene beneath Shenron. The published dimensions are over 32 cm high, 24 cm long and 26 cm wide.

Our reading of the official images is that the coils do much of the visual work. They carry the eye upward while keeping the dragon gathered around a relatively compact base. Repositioning Goku could change where the viewer begins reading the scene, even when the larger structure stays in place.

What has actually been announced

The press release specifies LEGO Insiders early access on November 1, 2026 and general availability on November 4. Its announced US recommended price is $179.99. Those are the announcement details checked September 30; readers should confirm their regional store’s current listing before ordering. LEGO also says more Dragon Ball sets will follow in 2027, without naming them in this announcement.

That leaves plenty to anticipate without needing a speculative shopping list. One confirmed model can be assessed on its own design, while later products can receive attention when their characters, contents and availability are actually disclosed.

The useful questions for a closer look

Before deciding where this model might fit, compare front and side views rather than relying on the most dramatic promotional angle. Consider the space around the head and claws as well as the base. A clear background may make the looping outline easier to appreciate than a crowded row of other dragons.

For minifigure collectors, Goku gives the scene a different point of interest from the large sculpture. For display builders, the relationship between the two is the central attraction. The official reveal gives both audiences something concrete to examine while hands-on evidence is still to come.
